From the Astros/Mets game last week:
-It’s exactly 270 miles from our house in Allen to my parents’ house in Houston door-to-door. We’ve made this drive the past 2 weekends, and we make it again in another week.
-Geico continues to make great commercials:
-Bob Bradley must have naked pictures of Sunil Gulati’s wife. I think Bob’s done a great job, but a country 300 million we need more, and a coach that was born and bred into this game and leadership with experience building youth leagues and expanding the sport. Jürgen Klinsmann would’ve been a brilliant selection, no matter how much we hear that Joachim Löw was the brains of the operations during Klinsmann tenure running Die Mannschaft.
-The Astros have completely rebuilt and I’ll 100% OK with that. I thought they would only win 60 games this year, and before they brought the kids up they were on pace to do so. 80 wins are possible if they can win their last 6 games. Keeping the Reds from celebrating on their home field might be some motivation to win the first 3 games this week.
-My Texans lost yesterday to the hated Cowboys, my wife’s favorite team. Shes been great about not rubbing it in btw, just another thing she’s great at. The loss in my opinion was mostly due to a very young secondary, mainly our 1st round draft pick this year, being torched by a has been Wide Reciever, and our QB not being able to make HS level blitz reads and reciever progressions. It’s been since the days of David Carr since the Texans turned a 1st and goal from the 1 to a 28 yard field goal.
One of the good guys of the MLB, The Phillies Eric Bruntlett, turns an unassisted Triple Play to end their game against the Mets over the weekend here’s the clip:
Here’s another clip form one my favorite plays he made as an Astro. In the 2005 season Bruntlett would be brought on in the 9th inning when the Astros had the lead as a defensive substitution for Biggio. Boy did it pay off this day, he helped turn a huge Double play to end game 4 in the 2005 NLCS.
