I’ve become a Paparazzi target

I’ve officially become a paparazzi target. The past 2 weeks we’ve been watching the LA Lakers and every highlight we see before the game action are shots of Jack Nicholson, or Leonardo Dicaprio, or Penny Marshall.  So last night @ the Rangers game who does ESPN flash up there none other than me and my buddy Andy to the right of me in the USC Trojans Shirt.

Here’s the Video, its right after they cut off Pudge right at the beginning.

Astros limping out of the gate

What a terrible week of Astros baseball…today’s game was so bad I could watch it in about 30 minutes on the DVR.  Today’s 3-0 loss ends a 1-5 week against the Cubs and @ the Cards.  Roy looks like he did at the beginning of last year.  He’s not getting out in front of hitters, his control has been seriously lacking.   Brocail was put on the 30 day DL b/c of a stiff shoulder after getting lit up Friday night.  Wandy looked ok from what I saw of him, but the Cardinals Kyle Loshe had a great day after his first pitch of the game he retired 24 of the next hitters.  The Astros got 2 on with Berkman up in the bottom of the ninth, but he could only manage a fly out to center.  This week the Astros have the Pirates and Cincinnati, so maybe a better week in on the horizon.

Baseball is back, and more football to watch…(not that football)

I’m really glad another baseball season is back in full swing.  Now the Astros maybe behind the eight ball a bit, I think they’ll do a lot better than all the media pre-season rankings.  Most have them have them at 3rd at best; some losing as many as 67 games. I think they’ll be about 87-90 wins, and that might get them into the wild card.  If they manage to stay healthy they may be able to pull it off, and make a run at the division.

Nice win tonight by the way.  So far our pitching has been strong, I’m not worried about Roy after last nights performance, and it’s nice to see Wandy pitching really well out of the gate.  Keppinger a late spring signing, after Aaron Boone had to have heart surgery, knocked in the game winning, walk off broken bat single for the 3-2 win in the 10th inning.  Baseball is all about a short memory so we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Speaking of tomorrow Liverpool FC plays Chelsea in the championship league quarterfinals.  I’m sure most people in the states don’t follow European football, but for the past 10 years or so I’ve been following as close as I can from abroad.  Fox soccer channel does a great job; I know I watch it a lot more than ESPN these days.   I’ve latched on to Liverpool, mostly b/c Steven Gerrard has been my favorite player since I’ve gotten into the EPL.    The UEFA Championship League games are really exciting, there’s some much talent on the pitch…here is how wiki breaks down the tournament.

Luckily for me ESPN360.com has all the championship games live, so I can stream them at work.  So from 1:45 – 3:45pm tomorrow I’m in a meeting.   ;)
